Treads and Threads is Germaine’s own company that offers: Dance (specifically Tap Dance ) consulting, coaching, choreography and selective workshops (TREADS) and Fibre Art (knitting weaving and hand spinning) projects and advice (THREADS).

These are two Life passions for Germaine for over 30 years.

TREADS

Germaine is currently teaching at NYU Steinhardt Vocal Performance program. She draws on her experience of 30+ years of teaching successfully in both open classes (BDC and STEPS in NYC), and workshops for various organizations to be able to offer consulting advice, private lessons (in person or on Zoom) and selective workshops.

TAP MUSIC FOR TEACHING AND PRACTICE

Tap Tunes is a collection of all new songs including a military, a swing waltz, several songs slow enough for soft shoe and triplets, a long Broadway-style cut and a short swing combination. There are 10 new songs, and 16 cuts as several are recorded at two different tempos. On tap tunes all the songs are 64 bars or longer. Once again this is all piano. Long cuts can be useful as extended warm-ups, across the floor, or combinations.

The Tap CD was originally composed and put together on cassette in 1992. Many teachers found this indispensible for teaching with and over the years I have received numerous requests for it. With its groups of short cuts at varying tempos for barre or center exercises, and 7 long cuts for across floor and combinations, it contains a jump rhythm piece, a waltz played at two tempos, and now a brand new bonus track The Ole’ Soft Shoe.

Pony tail hat has an opening for a pony tail and is tied with a cord sporting antique buttons on the ends.
